Connor Taylor has issued a farewell message following his departure from Bristol Rovers for Wycombe Wanderers, detailing his gratitude for the three seasons spent at the club.

The centre-back first joined Rovers on loan from Stoke City in 2021 and was an integral part of their League Two promotion-winning campaign before re-joining on a permanent basis in 2023.

Over two spells, the defender made 136 appearances for the Gas and was a fans’ favourite throughout his time, as well as picking up the club’s player of the season award last campaign despite their relegation.

Taking to social media, the 23-year-old wrote: “What a rollercoaster it’s been! There has been great times and unbelievable memories that will stay with me forever, to go along with tough moments also. I can honestly say that I have given absolutely everything to the club whether that be on or off the pitch.

“I’ll always be grateful to the club for providing me a platform to kickstart my career back when I was on loan. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Gas, making friends for life, so has my family. However at this time I feel that moving on is the best thing for me and my young family.

“Finally I just want to say thank you for your incredible support over the years and the love you’ve showed me. I wish every single supporter and the whole club all the very best in the future!”
