Martin Rollason stole from a number of stores across both boroughs in January this year.

West Midlands Police said the robber targeted shops in Coseley, Dudley, Netherton, Tipton and Smethwick.

The force said Rollason even made threats to stab workers while he plucked goods from a shop in Hales Lane, Smethwick.

The 39-year-old was arrested towards the end of January and went on to admit more than a dozen offences, ranging from robbery, theft and also a burglary in Kidderminster in June last year.

Rollason, of Hagley Road, Harborne, was jailed for six years at Wolverhampton Crown Court last Thursday (31 July).

Sergeant Richard Mander, from the Sandwell Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: “Rollason committed a series of crimes and was prepared to put others in fear to take what he wanted.

“We’ve now managed to ensure he has been taken off the streets and can no longer harm businesses and residents across Sandwell and Dudley.”
