TBR Football can exclusively confirm when Chelsea are now hoping to complete the signing of Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho.

Chelsea have had a busy summer on the transfer front, bringing in eight new recruits and moving 10 players on permanently.

With less than a month before the transfer window shuts, the Blues are not finished yet, with Simons and Garnacho firmly in their sights.

TBR Football can also confirm which Chelsea players are in line to leave Stamford Bridge over the coming weeks.

Chelsea are looking to complete the signings of Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho before the start of the Premier League season, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands.

Chelsea opened talks with Simons and Garnacho last month, but they informed both players to hold station as they finalised departures.

Chelsea have been working hard on moving players on and have now seen nearly £100million come in with the likes of Armando Broja, Lesley Ugochukwu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Joao Felix departing the club.

Sources now confirm that talks have started with both Manchester United and RB Leipzig as they look to bring both players in at a likely cost of around £100million – £50million for each player.

United had been asking £70million for Garnacho, but Chelsea are now talking about terms and the player has made it clear he wants to move to Stamford Bridge.

Likewise, progress has been made with Simons and the Dutchman is now ready for the move to West London.

We understand terms in principle with both players are nearing agreement with long-term deals in place which we are told will likely be eight-year contracts for both players.

Chelsea sources have confirmed to TBR Football that they hope both deals will be completed before the start of the Premier League season.

Chelsea are due more sales with the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga and Ben Chilwell set to depart, whilst Nicolas Jackson could also leave.

How Chelsea feel about Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons as Morgan Rogers is set to stay put

Bailey also confirmed that Chelsea have done a fair bit of work on Morgan Rogers, but Aston Villa have managed to hold off the Blues’ interest.

“Chelsea have been working hard, they have brought in big money through sales in the last week – with more to come – but that has freed them up to bring in Simons and Garnacho,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football.

“They had done work on Morgan Rogers, but it seems that Aston Villa stood firm on the England star and would not consider a sale this summer.

“But Chelsea insist that Simons and Garnacho were always amongst their top targets and we are told both players are very much seen as perfect fits for the ‘Chelsea project’.”
