Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is likely to leave the club this summer, and the Red Devils have reportedly set a price for interested parties.

Manchester United have set an asking price of £50m for forward Alejandro Garnacho, the latest report has claimed.

The Red Devils are running out of time to prepare their side for their opening Premier League clash against Arsenal on August 17, and boss Ruben Amorim wil hope to have settled on a starting XI after his side take on Fiorentina on Saturday.

Garnacho will certainly not be part of the Portuguese coach’s plans for the upcoming campaign, with his relationship with the manager thought to be beyond repair, and Amorim admitted in a press conference last weekend that the winger does not want to work under his “leadership”.

A number of sides such as Chelsea and Napoli have been credited with an interest in taking the Argentine away from Old Trafford this summer.

Sky Sports News claim that any party would have to pay £50m to secure the 21-year-old’s services, though Chelsea also still hold interest in RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons.

Has Amorim treated Garnacho unfairly?

Garnacho was left out of the squad to face Manchester City in December, though Amorim claimed that the incident was not related to discipline.

The forward started 25 times for the Portuguese coach, including both legs of the club’s Europa League semi-final tie against Athletic Bilbao in May.

Amorim dropped the winger for the final against Tottenham Hotspur – United lost 1-0 against their Premier League rivals – and the 21-year-old was reportedly frustrated at the decision to leave him out of the starting lineup.

However, Garnacho failed to score in 36 of the 40 matches that he played under Amorim, and his performances on the pitch were often disappointing.

Though he could plausibly improve his output as he ages and gains more experience, it would be hard to justify his place in the XI next season after such a poor 2024-25 campaign.

Amorim’s ruthless approach to Man United squad

Amorim could soon complete a revamp of his side’s front three should a deal for Benjamin Sesko be completed, and the striker would join Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha up front for the Red Devils.

The trio’s arrival has also coincided with the exit of Marcus Rashford, who had scored just seven goals for United in the past two seasons.

Winger Antony is also facing the prospect of a transfer away, while captain Bruno Fernandes will almost certainly be moved away from his favoured number 10 role in 2025-26.

If midfielder Carlos Baleba completes a move to Old Trafford from Brighton & Hove Albion, Manuel Ugarte‘s future could become uncertain despite the fact he only joined in the summer of 2024.
