The Technology Innovation Institute (TII), the applied research arm of Abu Dhabi’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), has entered a strategic agreement with Quantinuum. This agreement grants TII’s researchers access to Quantinuum’s quantum computing systems to support the development and benchmarking of quantum computing algorithms and commercial applications in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The partnership provides TII researchers with access to Quantinuum’s quantum computing systems, including its upcoming next-generation system, Helios, which is expected to demonstrate improvements in gate fidelity and qubit connectivity. The collaboration’s key research areas include chemistry and materials science, classical-to-quantum data integration, and complex optimization problems. The partnership is intended to combine quantum computing systems with research efforts to develop quantum algorithms.
The agreement is positioned as a step toward strengthening the UAE’s position in science and technology by training quantum algorithm developers in the region. This collaboration expands TII’s diverse ecosystem of partner platforms, which already includes in-house developed superconducting chips, IonQ’s trapped-ion processors, and access via AWS Braket to devices from QuEra, Rigetti, and IQM.
