On Thursday, Corriere dello Sport reported that Leeds United were close to beating competition from Fulham and West Ham in a move for Inter Milan’s Mehdi Taremi.

The newspaper were of the belief that the Whites may not have to pay a major amount for the striker, who is set to leave the San Siro this summer.

Now, Fulham are looking to beat Leeds United in the move.

Today’s Corriere dello Sport teases an ‘English derby’ for the 33-year-old, whose exit will free up some financial wiggle room for Inter.

Fulham are readying an offer for the Iran international as they are keen to leave Leeds United behind, with the player not interested in a move away from Europe.

The valuation of the offer from Elland Road is unknown and the newspaper isn’t clear about how much Marco Silva’s side can offer.

In the past, it has been indicated that a fee of around €10m can be enough to sign Taremi, who struggled to make a mark in the 2024/25 season at Inter.

The Iranian did show his goalscoring prowess at Porto, scoring 91 times and assisting 56 times in 182 games.
