Increase in service comes as Stena Line stop serving the route
Brittany Ferries will soon offer daily Ireland-France crossings

Brittany Ferries will increase the number of services between Ireland and France after competitor Stena Line announced it is withdrawing its passenger route between the two countries.
The operator will increase the number of weekly services between Rosslare and Cherbourg from five to seven from the start of October 2025, just after the Stena Line service between the ports ends in September.
At time of publication the Brittany Ferries timetable shows a daily service operating only for the month of October.
“Full schedules will be published shortly, after T’s have been crossed and I’s dotted,” the company said.
It comes after Brittany Ferries announced its new scheduling for the upcoming year.
“News that our competitor was stepping back started the firing pistol in a concerted effort to secure port slots and better serve customers in Ireland and France,” said Brittany Ferries CEO Christophe Mathieu in a press release.
“Brittany Ferries is a company that prides itself on its ability to move quickly when opportunity knocks,” he added.
There is good demand for the route according to Glenn Carr, Director Commercial Business Units for Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail – Port Authority for Rosslare Europort.
“Since Brexit, direct sailings between Rosslare Europort and the European Continent have increased sixfold,” he said.
“Our priority has been to ensure we maintain that capacity and choice for industry and tourism alike,” Mr Carr added.
