Two people were rushed to hospital this afternoon with ‘potentially serious injuries’ after a three-car crash on the M6 near Birmingham Airport.
The serious collision happened between J4 and J4A of the northbound carriageway at around 2.28pm.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and found two people, a man and a woman, who had been travelling in one of the cars.

They were treated at the scene for potentially serious injuries before being rushed to hospital.

Two lanes were closed on the major motorway for several hours following the collision.
Drivers were stuck in gridlock traffic following the multi-vehicle crash.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service told BirminghamLive: “We were called to reports of a three-car RTC on the M6 northbound, Coleshill, at 2.28pm and sent an ambulance to the scene.

“On arrival crews found two patients, a man and woman, the driver and passenger of one car, who they treated for potentially serious injuries before conveying them to hospital.
“There were no further patients.”
Providing an update on traffic levels shortly before 5pm, travel website Inrix said: “Long delays and two lanes closed due to accident on M6 northbound after J4.
“Congestion to Corley Services.
“The northbound M42 is back to J5 (Solihull/Knowle).”
