Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, speaking to Channel 5: “I’m very happy with the performance especially as we have trained just three or four days together. We don’t have time for pre-season. We have another game on Sunday.
“Not all of the players are going to be happy always. If they don’t play, they’re not happy. But they have to understand that they are all good – 22, 23, 24 players – and they have to understand that there will be many rotations.”
On Estevao Willian’s impressive performance: “He’s very, very young. For sure, as I said yesterday, he is going to help the team. He’s a fantastic player.”
On strengthening his defence after Levi Colwill’s injury: “It’s a priority for me, yes, because Levi is a fantastic player. What we achieved last season is because of him also. I love him, I’m going to miss him.”
