It’s been a major week in New York City with non-stop filming for The Devil Wears Prada 2 taking place. Now, you can only imagine my two-fold delight when I saw that Andy Sachs, ahem, Anne Hathaway, would be filming scenes right down the road from me outside the Long Island Bar in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. (Go for the burgers, stay for the vibes—truly, that restaurant is a gem.) But then the photos came through and they show Hathaway in character with a potential new love interest: Patrick Brammall.

I had seen him post on social media eons ago that he had been cast and would be joining The Devil Wears Prada 2 production, headlined by the one, the only Meryl Streep. I shrieked when I heard only because I’m a bit of a superfan—not just of Brammall, but of his IRL love interest and wife, Harriet Dyer. (The pair also happen to be the co-creators, co-writers and co-stars behind the series Colin from Accounts, a current favorite of mine.)

Paramount+

Colin is Aussie-based, but lucky for us, it’s also available to stream on Paramount+. (Season 3 of the critically acclaimed series is also in the works, huzzah!) A bit about the show: It follows two total strangers whose paths cross serendipitously at a crosswalk, then become unexpectedly intertwined when a bit of harmless flirting—a nipple flash!—leads to a distracted hit and run involving a dog, Colin. (He’s OK!)

TBQH, I loved this series—specifically, Brammall and Dyer—so much that it led me to follow them on Instagram where they are charming, funny and sweet. Now, you can understand my delight at realizing not only will Brammall be a part of The Devil Wears Prada 2, he is popping up just down the block filming scenes.

Will he be the new Adrian Grenier (Andy’s love interest in the first film)? Or simply a colleague that works closely with Andy? We’ll have to wait and see.

Bottom line: Major kudos to the casting department for this one. In my book, Brammall’s casting only adds to the buzz.
