Popeyes has confirmed the opening date for another new Birmingham restaurant and bosses are expecting ‘huge crowds’ on opening day.
The US fried chicken chain announced a major West Midlands expansion in April, revealing plans to launch six new restaurants this year.
Fans queues for more than 14 hours when Popeyes opened at New Street Station last month.

Other new sites have already opened at Birmingham Airport, Wednesbury, The Fort and Tyseley, with the final location at Perry Barr’s One Stop Shopping Centre scheduled to open on Friday, August 15.
It followed the opening of Popeyes’ first Birmingham restaurant on New Street last August.

With giveaways promised at the Perry Barr launch, bosses are expecting to see long queues once again.
The first three people in line will be gifted Popeyes’ famous Chicken Sandwiches for free for a year, and the first 50 customers will receive exclusive Popeyes UK merchandise. The first 100 customers will also bag a free Chicken Sandwich.
Doors will open at 11am and the team is encouraging diners to arrive early to avoid missing out.
Tom Crowley, Popeyes UK’s CEO, said: “The response across the West Midlands to our recent openings has been phenomenal and it’s clear there’s real appetite for Popeyes.
“Our new restaurant in Perry Barr gives us another opportunity to bring a taste of New Orleans to even more locals, and continue building on that momentum across the region.”
A spokesperson for the One Stop Shopping Centre added: “We are thrilled to welcome Popeyes to One Stop Shopping Centre.
“Their arrival brings an exciting new offering to our already vibrant food offering, and we know our shoppers are going to love their famous Louisiana chicken.
“This opening marks another fantastic addition to our centre, reinforcing our commitment to providing a diverse and high-quality experience for everyone who visits.”
The branch will have 76 seats and self-service kiosks and offer both dine-in and takeaway options across a menu of Popeyes favourites, including hot wings, tenders and signature chicken wraps, as well as the new Hot Honey range.
All dishes are halal-certified and marinated for 12 hours in the brand’s signature blend of bold Louisiana seasoning. The chicken is then hand-breaded and battered to create Popeyes’ signature ‘shatter crunch’.
