Max Verstappen has said he likes how new Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies “is working” early in his tenure at the Milton Keynes-based squad.

McLaren CEO Zak Brown has declared that he is “responsible” for the company’s exit from Formula E, following the conclusion of its most recent season.

The Woking-based organisation announced on April 25 that it would be departing the all-electric series after three campaigns in the championship, leaving team principal Ian James with an almighty task.

Toto Wolff has highlighted how George Russell was “stronger” than Lewis Hamilton last season, arguing he now “couldn’t wish for a better” driver to lead his team.

McLaren declare stance over significant risk: ‘I’m not naive’

McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown insists the team will continue to provide Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris “equal opportunity” to win the F1 drivers’ championship, despite the inherent “risk” involved.

The team-mates are separated by just nine points atop the standings at the summer break, and although Max Verstappen has quickly become a non-entity in the title picture over the past few rounds, the Woking-based squad is still cognisant of the potential consequences.

Mercedes backed by F1 legend over ‘worrying’ looming change

F1 legend Nigel Mansell has backed Mercedes to develop a “fantastic package” for the new power unit regulations next season, a change he has deemed as “worrying”.

For 2026, F1 will switch to a 50/50 split between internal combustion and electrical energy, creating a major challenge for all the manufacturers.
