Kieran Chapman, who appeared on Married at First Sight in 2024, was left in stitches while on holiday in Majorca as he found there was no competition to get a sunbedGeneral view of sunbeds
It’s no secret that Brits are fond of a European beach holiday at this time of year, chasing the sun and warmth that can often be elusive in the UK’s summer months.
The unpredictable British weather, with its bouts of rain, chilliness, and even severe winds and storms such as Storm Floris that hit on Monday, August 4, prompts many Brits to jet off to sunnier European destinations like Spain, Greece, and Italy.
Many holidaymakers dream of lounging by the pool, basking in the sunshine and working on their tan. In recent years, there have been numerous reports of “sunbed wars” erupting at popular resorts.

However, Kieran Chapman, known for his stint on Married at First Sight in 2024, had no such issues during his stay at a resort in Palma, Majorca. He shared a TikTok video showing a plethora of vacant sunbeds, left unoccupied due to an unexpected downpour.
The TV star appeared to enjoy the rainy conditions, reclining on a sunbed in a laid-back pose with his eyes closed. Palma, the capital city of Majorca, Spain, and the largest of the Balearic Islands, is renowned for its beaches, nightlife, and typically sunny and warm summer climate, reports the Express.
It appears Kieran was unlucky with the conditions during his getaway, but The TikTok footage shows that the Newcastle-born star didn’t let the torrential downpour dampen his spirits.
In the clip, Kieran, who works as a mechanic, was able to enjoy some tranquillity as no other holidaymakers could be seen around the swimming area, presumably deterred by the typically British conditions.
The recording remains silent apart from the now-famous Jet2holidays voiceover meme that has become a staple of amusing holiday content on TikTok.
Kieran’s footage has amassed 362,800 views, 16,200 likes and a surge of more than 200 comments to date.
The video left viewers in stitches, with one commenting: “The rays still get to you through the clouds.”
A second observer noted: “When you’re used to English weather.”
A third proposed: “That’s probably more relaxing than lying in the hot sun.”
One person celebrated the ease of securing poolside seating: “No towels on the sun beds, get innnn.”
Another observed: “At least there’s no queues for the chairs.”
The comments were packed with responses such as “this made me laugh”, “making the most of it” and “I’m actually howling.”
Kieran isn’t the only holidaymaker whose break was spoiled by rainfall.
Other tourists visiting traditionally sunny destinations have also encountered surprising wet conditions and shared their own amusing clips online.
