Jack Kay, 26, has become an internet sensation after a video of him dancing in a vest and sunglasses with the distinctive chinstrap beard and high skin fade haircut went viral“The perfect Final Boss is a high skin fade with the top slicked to the side. But it’s mainly the beard that makes it.”
The “Ibiza Final Boss” trend is currently taking the UK by storm, all thanks to a video of Geordie Jack Kay dancing in Ibiza that went viral on social media. Donning a gold chain, sunglasses and a distinctive hairstyle, the footage has led to a surge in demand for the unique look at barbershops across the country.
Barber Ben McCabe, 21, who works at Razortrim in Erdington, Birmingham, reveals that the 26 year old’s hairstyle has sparked a new trend. He told The Mirror that he’s been swamped with bookings for the ‘Final Boss’ cut, averaging two per day.
“Everyone is asking for it!” he discloses, adding that the haircut costs £28 at Razortrim. This follows reports that Jack Kay, the ‘Ibiza Final Boss’, could earn a six-figure sum from sponsorship deals.

However, Ben confesses that when he first saw the infamous post, he thought it was nothing more than a humorous meme. “When I first saw it, I thought it hilarious – we were all sending it around. It looks like he’s stuck it on!”.
“But then, on my very first day back at work, people were asking for it and showing me the video,” he adds, reports the Mirror.
He continues: “Everyone has their own style; some people might find it attractive, some not. A lot have taken inspiration from it. The accessories all help – the vest, the chain, the tattoos, the man bag, it’s a vibe. I wouldn’t get it myself – I’m vanilla, but people love it. “It’s Ibiza season and this is the style – whether it wears off by winter who knows, or whether it will come back next summer. But it’s definitely hot now.”
Apprentice barber Ollie Stokes, 17, was amongst those who adored the appearance and requested Ben give him the haircut in a clip that has garnered nearly a million views since being uploaded to TikTok.
However, Ollie opted to style the cut somewhat more modestly.

“After I got the cut, I put it on my Snapchat, and my friends were creasing up. But I think I’d save it for when I go to Ibiza.”
Regarding the challenge of perfecting the Ibiza bob – arguably the most notorious since Jennifer Aniston’s Rachel style in Friends – Ben reveals it’s actually quite straightforward to achieve.

“It’s pretty similar to just a normal skin fade. It’s longer on top. There’s a bit less of a blend. You got more of a Peaky Blinders style going on,” he explains.
“The perfect Final Boss is a high skin fade with the top slicked to the side. But it’s mainly the beard that makes it.”
And it’s not just any facial hair, he added: “It’s that chin strap that Jack has in his video. It makes the jawline look sharp.”
