The latest development for WV Living will deliver 18 new homes on the site of the former Daisy Bank Community Centre in Bilston,.

WV Living is the City of Wolverhampton Council’s wholly-owned housing development company. The new development, located on Ash Street in Bilston, will deliver a total of 18 homes, comprising a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom properties. Of these,13 will be available for sale, while five will be council homes for affordable rent.

WV Living said in a statement that, in a commitment to sustainability and community heritage, it is working closely with West Midlands-based reclamation specialists ADS Demolition to salvage and repurpose materials from the former community centre as demolition takes place. Impressively, 99% of the building will be recycled, with materials being given a new lease of life in future building projects.

Councillor Steve Evans, the council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for city housing, said: “This development represents a significant step forward in our ongoing efforts to deliver high quality, sustainable housing across the city. By transforming a disused site into a vibrant new community, we are not only addressing local housing needs but also demonstrating our commitment to environmental responsibility.

“I’m pleased to see the partnership with a West Midlands based reclamation company which shows our commitment to sustainability and preserving the character of our neighbourhoods. This is a win for Bilston and a win for Wolverhampton.”

WV Living said it continues to work in partnership with the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Housing Team to deliver homes that support the city’s housing strategy.

So far, the company has built over 600 homes, including more than 260 properties for shared ownership and council homes for affordable rent.

Over the next five years, it reportedly plans to deliver a further 500 homes, with nearly 150 of these earmarked as council homes for affordable rent and shared ownership.

By the end of 2025, the company will have invested £100m into housing developments across Wolverhampton.

Construction is expected to begin at Daisy Bank in autumn 2025, with the first homes due for completion in Spring 2026.
