In many ways, Leadville 100 MTB is the genesis of modern-day gravel racing .
While the race is defined by the sheer elevation and climbing that comes with riding “across the sky,” racers will spend the majority of their time riding pavement, gravel, double track, and mining roads.
This year’s edition features all of the big hitters one would expect in a gravel race.
Keegan Swenson is perpetually the favorite in the men’s race, though the likes of Lachlan Morton, Alexey Vermeulen, Matt Beers, and Russell Finsterwald will be sure to put up a fight.
Melisa Rollins will look to carry her SBT GRVL momentum to Leadville as well, with Sarah Sturm, Cecily Dekker, and Lauren Stephens also likely favorites.
