The search for a striker at Leeds United is ongoing with Daniel Farke’s men now officially lacking in numbers after it was confirmed Mateo Joseph and Joe Gelhardt have left on loan.

Plenty of strikers have been linked with Leeds this summer. Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz remains the main choice but Leeds are struggling in their attempts to convince Fulham to drop the Brazilian’s price tag.

Aleksandar Mitrovic, Nikola Krstovic, Artem Dovbyk and plenty more have been linked with a move to Elland Road. Paul Robinson thinks Leeds should sign either Mitrovic or Muniz in the coming weeks.

But nothing has been confirmed as Leeds struggle to add to the seven signings that they have made. On Saturday, Leeds confirmed the loan exits of Mateo Joseph and Joe Gelhardt, while a new striker emerged.

According to a report from Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Leeds had agreed a fee with Sassuolo for Andrea Pinamonti. The Italian forward had scored 11 goals last term while on loan at Serie A side Genoa.

In the meantime, Sassuolo have been promoted back to Serie A but they are open to his exit and it is believed Pinamonti wants to move to the Premier League. However, Pedulla says he’s rejected Leeds.

While those reports have been unconfirmed on English shores, and Italian media are renowned for their rumours, Pinamonti is 26 and stands at a lofty 6ft 1in. He fits the criteria Adam Underwood wants.

West Ham and Brentford have held Andrea Pinamonti talks

It is unclear as to why Pinamonti has rejected a move to Elland Road. But, The Evening Standard say West Ham and Brentford have been in talks to sign Pinamonti this summer, and is yet to reject those sides.

It might be that Pinamonti is concerned that the last six promoted sides have been relegated, while West Ham and Brentford are established Premier League clubs. A fee for Pinamonti is unclear at this stage.

Regardless, it seems Pinamonti has rejected a move to Yorkshire as Leeds suffer more frustration in their attempts to lure a striker to Elland Road. It will be interesting to see where Farke’s side turn next.
