The work, which will be carried out at night from 10pm to 6am, will see overnight closures of sections of the road at different locations and different times.  

Between Monday 11th August and until Saturday 16th August, and Monday 18th August to Saturday 23rd Augus the M8 eastbound Junction 15 on-slip will be closed.  

Traffic will be diverted via Springburn Road, Petershill Road, Turner Road, Cobden Road, the southbound A803 and Royston Road to join the M8 eastbound at the Castle Street on-slip.  

From Monday 25th August to Monday 1st September 2025: Overnight closures will be put in place at the M8 eastbound Junction 15 off-slip.  

Traffic will be directed to follow the M8 eastbound to Viewpark Avenue and follow Blochairn Road, Royston Road, Baird Street and the Springburn Expressway, where this diversion will end.

And beginning on Monday 1st September until Monday 8th September 2025, overnight closures of the M8 westbound Junction 15 on-slip will be put in place.  

Traffic will be diverted via Castle Street, Alexandra Parade, Viewpark Avenue and Alexandra Park Street to join the M8 westbound at the Junction 14 on-slip. The M8 Junction 15 westbound off-slip to Glebe Street will also be closed overnight during this time and traffic will be diverted via Castle Street and Glebe Street.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.  

Amey, who is carrying out the work, said all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.  

A statement by the roads company said: “This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway structures.  

“Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.”
