Netflix

Welcome to the Grand Line, a place not for the faint of heart.

Netflix has premiered the teaser trailer for the second season of its live-action adaptation of the iconic anime “One Piece”.

The trailer comes ahead of the new season launch in early 2026, and with it also comes the announcement that the show has been renewed for a third season.

While strikes and other factors delayed production on the show’s second season, that won’t be the case with the third.

In fact, Netflix confirms in a press release the show is already lining up production of the third in Cape Town later this year. That would suggest the intention of getting it out on the service sometime in 2027.

As previously reported, Ian Stokes is set to join Joe Tracz as co-showrunner for Season 3 which is expected to adapt the Arabasta arc.

The second season is set to adapt multiple arcs from the anime, which can be seen in the trailer with first looks at Nico Robin, Princess Vivi, Smoker and Brogy.

The new run adapts several arcs including Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whisky Peak, Little Garden and Drum Island – following the first season’s path of essentially compressing the events of five arcs and 45 anime episodes into a workable eight-episode season.
