Leeds United’s search for a winger continues after missing out on Igor Paixao, and they may be about to hit another stumbling block.
There were thoughts that it was unlikely for Leeds United to secure a deal for the Feyenoord winger, as Graham Smyth explained Paixao was Leeds’ hardest deal of the window.
Despite their efforts, including compatriot Lucas Perri speaking directly with Paixao on the phone, it proved to be futile.
Leeds still need some top talent to join at the top end of the pitch, with a striker, a winger, and an attacking midfielder all in the club’s transfer plans ahead of the deadline next month.
The Whites had been eyeing Liverpool youngster Ben Doak, but a move from Arne Slot has made that move seem to be dead in the water.

Liverpool are facing Crystal Palace this afternoon in the Community Shield at Wembley and Doak is on the bench.
A move that could be seen as Arne Slot telling Leeds United Doak is staying put and won’t be moving to Elland Road, it looks to be Doak is being integrated into Liverpool’s squad.
MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES
A move that is undoubtedly frustrating for Leeds after falling short on numerous deals already this transfer window with 22 days to go.
Doak was thought to be the right profile for a team like Leeds, even if he is young and not yet tested at Premier League level, he has bags of potential.

The news also may come as a blow to the other Premier League side interested according to Sky Sports journalist Zinny Boswell.
He said West Ham United were also keen and that Liverpool youngster wouldn’t come cheap.

With Liverpool’s Ben Doak now seemingly off the table, Leeds’ hierarchy will be keen to find a player who not only fits Daniel Farke’s system but can also handle the demands of the Premier League.
One name that has surfaced is Dilane Bakwa, the French winger from Strasbourg. With 15 goal contributions last season, he is a player who offers both goals and creativity.
Another potential target is Bilal El Khannouss, an attacker from Leicester City, who can operate on the left or through the middle. While he may be a more expensive option, his talent and potential make him an enticing prospect.
Asked Daniel Farke about Jack Harrison and whether he’s in his plans for the Premier League ⚪️
“Jack has all the chances (to win back the fans). Our supporters don’t need my message. This will be a natural thing once he delivers good performances.” #LUFC pic.twitter.com/9hPKdf5NQd

A more familiar name is Jack Harrison, who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Everton. Farke has publicly backed the winger to win over fans, and his proven Premier League experience could be invaluable.
While these players present different options, one thing is clear: Leeds need to act fast to secure the attacking reinforcements they need for the season ahead.
