Madison Keys booked her place in the second round of the Cincinnati Open after a comeback win against Eva Lys.
Lys took the first set convincingly by six games to one, which the Australian Open champion responded to by forcing a decisive third set.
Keys saved two match points against the German and won the third-set tiebreak to clinch the victory in front of a home crowd on Grandstand, 1-6, 6-3, 7-6.
After her loss, Lys took to social media to send a message to her Cincinnati Open conqueror.

The defeat for Lys marked her second loss to a top ten player this month, following her third-round exit at the Canadian Open to Iga Swiatek.
Shortly after the match, the world number 62 posted on Instagram, saying: “Those match points will haunt me in my sleep.
“Insane fight from @madisonkeys, those are the matches I play for. Thank you @cincytennis.”
Since Wimbledon, she has collected three wins during the North American hard-court swing.

Keys was one of the many seeded stars across both the WTA and ATP tours to bow out in the early stages of the Wimbledon championships.
The American’s campaign at the All England Club ended in the third round after she lost to Laura Siegemund in straight sets.
Since then, she has got herself back in the win column, and advanced to the quarterfinals at the Canadian Open.
She got revenge on Siegemund in Montreal and earned victories over Caty McNally and Karolina Muchova before her loss to Clara Tauson in the last eight.
