Since leaving Leeds United in 2022, Kalvin Phillips’ career has endured a staggering decline.
The midfielder could regret his decision to sign for Manchester City as he went from becoming a starter for Leeds and England to a player whose stock has plummeted for both club and country.
Kalvin Phillips’ loan moves to West Ham United and Ipswich Town were not ones to write home about as well as he is yet to redeem himself for years now.
Manchester City are desperate to sell Phillips this summer, who has a case for being one of the most disappointing signings in their history.
Kalvin Phillips’ wages are an issue for Leeds United despite interest
Signed as an understudy to Rodri, Manchester City paid £45 million for Phillips’ services but it seemed like he failed to convince Pep Guardiola about his quality from day one.
The fact that City did not consider recalling the 29-year-old from his loan move to Ipswich last season despite the Spaniard suffering an ACL injury sums up his reputation as a player at the Etihad Stadium.
A report published by the Mirror has now claimed that Leeds United remain interested in re-signing Phillips from Manchester City.

However, the stumbling block for Daniel Farke’s side are the England international’s £120,000-a-week wages.
Man City have a new stance on Kalvin Phillips’ future
Manchester City would be looking to offload Phillips and Leeds’ stance is one that will likely disappoint them.
Phillips is keen on rejoining Leeds but it takes two to tango and currently, the Whites perhaps feel that their academy graduate does not fit into their wage structure.
However, Manchester City are willing to loan Phillips out this summer.
Ultimately, City will have to get the player off their books and if another loan move is what it takes to do so, Pep Guardiola and Co seem open to the idea.
