Final Destination fans, listen up! The future of the franchise has been confirmed in a very exciting update.
Following the success of Final Destination Bloodlines, the sixth entry overall and the first in 14 years, a seventh film is officially happening.
As reported by Variety, Bloodlines co-writer Lori Evans Taylor is returning to pen the script for this new entry.
She wrote the previous film with Gary Busick, but he has not been announced for Final Destination 7 at this point.
Craig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Jon Watts, Dianne McGunigle and Toby Emmerich are all returning as producers, while Warren Zide is also back as executive producer.

Bloodlines released to strong reviews — with Digital Spy‘s own review stating that: “Ultimately for long-running fans or brand-new ones, Final Destination: Bloodlines proves there’s plenty of life left in this series.”
Not only did it set the bar for the franchise’s Rotten Tomatoes score, but it also set the record for the highest-grossing film in the franchise.
It grossed over $285 million from a reported budget of $50 million, a marked improvement over runner-up The Final Destination’s $157 million taking.

We don’t have any plot details for the film yet, but you can be sure that it will involve a lot of grisly deaths that people will try — and usually fail — to prevent.
One thing we shouldn’t expect, from this seventh film or any entry, is an explanation as to how and why people get premonitions.
“If we answer how they happen, that means that you as an audience member may never have it. You might not have that moment,” producer Perry said, likening it to how Star Wars’ The Force was de-mystified in The Phantom Menace.
Final Destination Bloodlines is available to buy or rent digitally, or purchase on disc.
