Evo 2025 is now behind us. There were a bunch of announcements and reveals that happened during the event.
For Guilty Gear Strive, we got our first glimpse at Lucy’s gameplay. Additionally, version 2.0 is slated to be released sometime in 2026.
During this event, IGN took some time to speak with Ken Miyauchi, the producer of Guilty Gear Strive. In a recent video, they talked about the addition of Lucy, the upcoming 2.0 update and the characters teased at the end.
“At the finals for Evo 2025, you guys revealed Guilty Gear [Strive] 2.0. Can you tell us a little bit about what’s going to be in that version?” asked Mitchell Saltzman of IGN.
“Yeah, so we just announced a teaser trailer showing version 2.0. We are not really explaining what’s in 2.0, but there’s a reason behind the number 2.0,” responded Miyauchi “We want to provide new, exciting content for Guilty Gear Strive. I’m expecting to show more details in the near future.”
Following this, Saltzman speculated that the two silhouettes that we saw at the end of the recent trailer hinted at Jam and Robo-Ky.
Unsurprisingly, Miyauchi was unwilling to confirm or deny that these silhouettes were pointing towards these two characters, but he did outright state that the team is continuing to work on additional characters. As of right now, it’s unknown if there will be any more characters added to Guilty Gear Strive beyond the two that were hinted at.
