Lexington, KY – On Wednesday (Aug. 13), The Red Mile will offer a 16-race card which features two $80,000 second-round legs of the Kentucky Championship Series for sophomore pacing fillies and 3-year-old male trotters. The race schedule includes two $30,000 second-leg divisions of the Kentucky Commonwealth Series, five $15,000 second-round legs of the Kentucky Golden Rod Series and two $10,000 second-round legs of the Kentucky Wildcat Series.

Mr Mouton (Dexter Dunn) seeks to collect the fourth win of his career and is fresh off his 1:50.1 world-record-equaling effort on Aug. 4 in the first round of this series. The son of Chapter Seven-Burberry is conditioned by Ake Svanstedt.

The gelding broke his maiden in his career debut on June 24, 2024, defeating this year’s $1 million Hambletonian second-place finisher and last year’s Kentucky champion Super Chapter. He resurfaced this year with a second to future Hambletonian victor Nordic Catcher S in a non-winners event at The Meadowlands on June 13, followed by a second to top sophomore trotter Go Dog Go in the Reynolds Stakes over the same surface on June 28.

Mr Mouton will look to add to his win total Wednesday at The Red Mile. Amanda Stephens Photography.

Mr Mouton annexed his second career victory in another non-winners event at The Meadowlands on July 11 prior to finishing fifth in his Hambletonian elimination on July 26.

In his 1:50.1 win, Mr Mouton left from post position 12 and settled in 10th as Yannick G Kemp, Whiskey Wow and Mountcastle set swift fractions of :28.1, :54.4 and 1:22. The gelding steadily advanced to trot his final quarter in :27.1 and hold off favored Monserrate.

Owned by Knutsson Trotting Inc., Little E LLC, Stolz Geiger and Jorgen Sparredal Inc., Mr Mouton was bred by R. Kevin Greenfield. He was sold under the name Count Seven for $140,000 at the 2023 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

The gelding will leave from post position six in the eight-horse field and is 9-5 on the morning line.

He has a career resume of 6-3-2-0 and has earned $103,713 in purse money.

Unreasonable (Marcus Miller) goes for five straight in the second leg of the Championship Series for sophomore pacing fillies for trainer Erv Miller. The filly will leave from post position four in the five-horse field and is 6-5 on the morning line.

The filly exhibited talent as a freshman with a third in the $400,000 Kentucky Championship Series final behind future Dan Patch Award and Breeders Crown winner Miki And Minnie. She also triumphed in a $77,500 division of the Bluegrass Stakes.

In 2025, however, Unreasonable appears to have advanced in ability. In her last trip to the post on Aug. 4, Unreasonable sat off solid fractions of :26.3, :54 and 1:21.3. She came first-over from fourth to put some distance between her foes to hit the line in front in a lifetime-best 1:48.4.

Bred by Steve Stewart and Frank Chick, Unreasonable possesses a career resume of 17-8-2-3 and has banked $308,582. The filly is 6-5-1-0 this season. Her only loss was on June 24 in a sire stakes leg at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming and Hotel by a head.

She was purchased for $55,000 at the 2023 Standardbred Horse Sale by her trainer’s stable and David J. Miller.

Racing will continue through Sunday, Oct. 5, following a Sunday through Wednesday schedule. Fans and horsemen can look forward to 5:05 p.m. post times on Sundays, and 1 p.m. post times on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays throughout the meet. Please be advised post times on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are subject to change due to the fluctuations in extreme heat and various other weather conditions across the nation.
