A man has been arrested and charged following the sexual assault of a woman on an Edinburgh city centre street.
On Sunday August 10 at around 11.15pm, officers raced to Nicolson Street after being made aware of the incident.
The male was also charged in connection with the assault of a man, along with resisting arrest and an assault on two police officers.
Pictures taken from the scene show a large police presence outside the Lidl supermarket, reports Edinburgh Live.
The man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 38-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a sexual assault on a woman and an assault on a man in Nicolson Street, Edinburgh at 11.15pm on Sunday, 10 August, 2025.
“He was also charged in connection with resisting arrest and an assault on two police officers.
“He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 12 August, 2025 in connection.”
