Detectives have issued CCTV images of two women they believe could assist with enquiries following a report of an assault at Liverpool Central Station.

It was reported that at around 6.20pm on Saturday, 28 June, a man who was caring for a man in a wheelchair was punched in the face and threatened by two women.

The women also became aggressive when they were prevented from trying to push the man in the wheelchair away.

The victim, a man in his 50s, sustained bruising to his face and injuries to his arm.

Extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted, and detectives have issued CCTV images of two women they believe could assist in their investigation.

Detective Inspector Paula Jones said, “This was an unprovoked assault which left the victim with bruising to his face and cuts to his arm.

“The carer was trying to give the dependent man a lovely day out that was sadly spoilt by these women’s actions.

“Both men were left vulnerable by this vicious assault and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has information which can help with our investigation to please contact us.

“I am also appealing to the women featured in the image, or anyone who recognises them, to come forward. We believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
