How the Mosley Common homes will look
Detailed plans have been tabled for the next phase of a huge housing development set to take shape at Mosley Common in Tyldesley.
Kellen Homes and Great Places Housing Group have lodged a ‘reserved matters’ application for 219 homes on land next to the Guided Busway into central Manchester.
The homes, all of which will be affordable and available for shared ownership, are part of a wider masterplan for more than 1,000 on Mosley Common.

The masterplan emerged following the approval last year of the strategic document for development across Greater Manchester for the next 14 years, Places for Everyone.
Proposals will deliver a ‘high-quality’ mix of two, three and four-bedroom family homes, all designed to be accessible to people uusing wheelchairs.

A design and access statement posted on the Wigan planning portal says: “Our vision is to create a vibfrant and thriving heart of Mosley Common, where new and existing communities can gather, engage and socialise.”
The plan – badged as phases four to six – will serve as a ‘key arrival point’ for the new neighbourhood, offering three significant green spaces – Mosley Woods, Honksford Meadows and Mosley Mosslands – an ecological corridor, enhancing biodiversity and supporting wildlife habitats.
