Sadie Sink has been spotted arriving in Glasgow to film for her role in the upcoming Marvel movie, Spiderman: Brand New Day.
The Stranger Things star landed in the Scottish city on August 12th to begin shooting, although her role in the film has not yet been fully confirmed.
It comes after the movie’s lead actors, Tom Holland and Zendaya have also been seen filming in the streets of the centre of the city since the beginning of August. Holland has been seen stopping to speak to fans as crowds gathered around the filming locations.
Although Sink’s role has not yet been revealed, rumours have swirled on social media that her character’s name could be either Jean Grey, Mary Jane Watson, or Gwen Stacy. It is not clear which one of these will emerge to be true.
There is also further speculation that for the first time ever, the villain in the new Spiderman movie could be played by a female actor.
The production has closed off large parts of the centre of Glasgow since it originally arrived in the city to film for 11 days at the beginning of the month.
However, per Glasgow Live, Marvel have now secured permission from Glasgow City Council to extend the filming for another 11 days, with the shoot now scheduled to conclude on August 26th.
While a number of scenes are being shot in Scotland, there are also production bases for the film at Pinewood Studios in London, Italy, and Morocco.
Spiderman: Brand New Day is set to mark Holland’s fourth outing as the titular superhero, with a clip being posted to social media recently to reveal the new suit that is being used for the film.
The film is slated for release on July 31st, 2026.
