St Helens Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), located in St Helens town centre, received the rating following a recent inspection, with inspectors praising its performance in five key areas: safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.

Rob Cooper, chief executive, said: “We are delighted that our St Helens Treatment Centre has been recognised as ‘Good’ by the CQC.

“To rate ‘Good’ across all inspected areas has taken a lot of hard work by our staff and I am proud that the report highlights the high standards of care, quality leadership and commitment to providing the best patient experience possible.”

The CQC report highlighted strong leadership, effective teamwork, and a clear focus on patient safety and satisfaction.

Inspectors noted that patients could access the service easily and quickly, and that staff consistently delivered a caring and high-quality service.

Additional praise was given for the support available to people with communication or additional needs, as well as the centre’s robust governance and management processes.

Mr Cooper said: “Our staff have worked tirelessly to provide the highest standards of compassionate care to our patients and this inspection report is a reflection of that.”

The St Helens Urgent Treatment Centre provides care for patients with urgent but non-life-threatening conditions, offering a walk-in service for those in need of prompt medical attention without an appointment.
