A Midlands commercial fit-out company is expanding into new offices in Birmingham city centre.

Intex Projects has taken the third floor suite at EDG Property’s 126 Colmore Row, just a short walk from its current base in the Central Business District, as it continues to grow in the region.

Intex, which also has an office in Leamington Spa, carries out fit-out projects ranging from £100,000 up to £10 million and counts the likes of Birmingham City University and Birmingham City Football Club as clients, as well as a range of other projects in the city centre.

The move to 126 Colmore Row comes just weeks after it was announced that the prestigious office building had been acquired by award-winning EDG Property.

The property is already home to renowned tenants such as Jamaya Restaurants on the ground floor, with upper floors occupied by Walker Crips, the Frankfurt Christmas Market and Jeremy Gardner Associates.

EDG has already started refurbishment of the building that offers unrivalled views across Colmore Row and Victoria Square.

The company has appointed BNP Paribas Real Estate as letting agents for the available office suites, which range from 400 sq ft to 4,000 sq ft, and Neil Edginton, director of EDG Property, said attracting Intex was the perfect start.

He said: “We’re really pleased to secure Intex as our first letting since acquiring 126 Colmore Row only a few weeks ago. As a high-end fit out specialist, Intex understand our vision and plans for the building and it’s exciting to see the extent of other tenant interest we’ve already had in the building.

“We knew we had a special property on our hands when we acquired it and achieving our first deal so quickly underlines that.”

Emma Brayne, of Intex, said: “The business is 21-years-old this year and we are looking to grow further. Birmingham is a very significant market for us, so it is important that we have a strong presence in the city centre.

“The fact that we can move just a short walk down Colmore Row is very convenient and it’s fair to say we know a good fit-out company if we need to make any changes!”

Julie Perks, of BNP Paribas Real Estate, said: “There has been really positive interest in 126 Colmore Row since the high-profile announcement of the acquisition by EDG a few weeks ago and the fact that it has translated into a first letting so quickly is great news all round.”
