Bristol Girl is part of the now UK-wide City Girl Network established by Pippa Moyle, who set up the first group in Brighton back in 2016.
Designed to inspire and connect women and girls with new friends, companions, housemates, business links and things to do, the group lists a raft of upcoming events from ‘walk & talks’, to marble painting, co-working clubs, jewellery making, speed networking and a even a doughnut crawl.
One such regular meetup is the monthly Bristol Girl Book Club at Ritorno Lounge, which brings enthusiastic readers together in an informal and supportive space, sparking new friendships in the process.

Following July’s discussion of The Survivors by Jane Harper, the August meetup centres on The Cotton Candy Massacre by Christopher Robertson.
The hosts – Amy and Maria – are keen to point out that there is no pressure to have read or finished the book in advance.
“Expect to have an amazing evening with a group of great Bristol Girls, having lots of fun discussing the chosen book”, they enthuse.
“We understand that coming to an event can be daunting if you haven’t been to one before (or sometimes even if you have!). We really want you all to know that absolutely everyone on the Bristol Girl group is welcome.
“We are a group of kind, supportive and inclusive girls who are all here with the same thing in mind – to create some strong connections and quality friendships. So please don’t worry if you’re feeling anxious as those anxieties will certainly fade once you’ve met us!”
Bristol Girl Book Club is at Ritorno Lounge on August 18 at 6.30-9.30pm, and on a monthly basis. Tickets are available at www.citygirlnetwork.com, where all upcoming Bristol Girl events are also listed.
