On the back of the claim that London will host more concerts by major acts than anywhere else in the world this summer, We Group is celebrating the completion of a remarkable two weeks in the capital for the independent production company.

Last month, the Greater London Authority (GLA) said London would see 3.6m fans attend major shows this summer, and in the past two weeks alone We Group’s production division The Fair has delivered ten major live shows across the city.

At Burgess Park it produced four events, plus a community day, in collaboration with Elixar Events. This year’s run of events at the South London park kicked off with two editions of Boiler Room: London with performances by artists including Underworld, Yousuke Yukimatsu, DJ AG and HorsegiirL.

Other major projects included the delivery the second edition of the Jazz Café Festival, Maiden Voyage at Burgess Park and the six show series Labyrinth on the Thames at Greenwich’s Old Royal Naval College. The latter event saw Black Coffee become the first DJ to perform at the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

“Producing events in such varied and iconic settings requires not only technical expertise but a deep understanding of how to create a sense of place,” said The Fair senior production director Millie Devereux. “Our focus was on giving audiences a standout experience – and a seamless one too – and it’s been rewarding to read such incredible feedback across the board.”

We Group CEO Nick Morgan said, “London remains one of the most exciting cities in the world for music, and this summer’s programme demonstrates what can be achieved through strong partnerships and creative ambition. Our teams have worked unbelievably hard to make these events happen, and the phenomenal feedback has made it worthwhile.”
