Manchester United will discover their Carabao Cup second round opponents this evening.

The Reds enter the competition in the round two this season due to an absence of European football at Old Trafford. The nine Premier League clubs competing in Europe will join the competition in round three.

United, who won the competition as recently as 2023, will be in the northern section of the draw, which is regionalised in the opening two rounds. There is no seeding so the Reds could face a fellow top flight side or one of the EFL teams who have progressed past round one.

The draw takes place ahead of the first round tie between Birmingham and Sheffield United, which is being shown live on Sky Sports and ITV4. The draw will start at approximately 7.20pm. Round two ties will take place on the week commencing August 25.
