JD Gyms announced in March that it would be opening its doors in the town in an undisclosed location, later confirmed to be Viables Business Park.
The company, which runs almost 100 gyms across the UK, is owned by sportswear, fashion and shoe retailer JD Sports.
In a post previously made on Facebook, JD Gyms said that it is ‘absolutely buzzing’ to come to Basingstoke, adding: “We’re about to seriously upgrade your workouts.”
The gym, which will open on Wednesday, August 27, promises an ‘incredible, stylish fitness space filled with industry-leading equipment’ including an Eleiko functional zone for fitness training and a sprint/sled track.
The facility will be open 24 hours a day, allowing members to work out at the time most convenient for them with free parking and saunas for ‘post-workout relaxation in [its] luxury changing rooms’.
In addition to the sprint/sled track, the gym will also include a dedicated glute zone, lifting zone, plate-loaded equipment for strength training, free weights, cardio areas and a studio with more than 100 fitness classes a month.
JD Gyms will be the second gym to open in Basingstoke in August, after Jetts Gym opened in Chineham Shopping Centre on August 11 in a unit previously occupied by supermarket Iceland.
