A teenage girl was sexually assaulted on a First Bus in Bristol.

The driver of the 24 service flagged police officers down after the attack happened shortly after midday on Wednesday, June 4.

Police officers spoke to the victim, however the offender had already left the bus by the time they were alerted.

Police say they have been in contact with First Bus and have circulated the images among officers and are now appealing for the public’s support in identifying the pictured man.

He is described by police as being of mixed heritage, about 5ft 10ins tall, aged in his 20s or 30s with short wavy black hair, short black facial hair.

Safeguarding measures are in place to support the victim who is being kept regularly updated as the investigation progresses.

A police spokesperson said: “If you know who this man is, or witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to an officer, we’d like to hear from you.

“If you can help, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5225155426, or complete our online appeals form.

“You can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form.

“No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court or have to speak to police when contacting Crimestoppers.”
