A man has been rushed to hospital after a reported disturbance at a pub in Edinburgh prompting cops to launch a probe.
Police raced to the Dog House on Clerk Street at around 10.45pm on August 12 after receiving reports of a disturbance.
A man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment and the extent of his injuries is unknown.
Images from the scene show several police cars outside the city centre venue and an eyewitness said there was a person with blood on their face speaking to officers.
Cops are now carrying out an investigation to establish the full circumstances behind the incident.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 10.45pm on Tuesday, 12 August, 2025, we received a report of a disturbance at a premises on Clerk Street, Edinburgh.
“Emergency services attended and one man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing.”
It comes as a man was arrested and charged following the sexual assault of a woman just along the road on Sunday night.
On Sunday August 10 at around 11.15pm, officers raced to Nicolson Street after being made aware of the incident.
The male was also charged in connection with the assault of a man, along with resisting arrest and an assault on two police officers.

Pictures taken from the scene show a large police presence outside the Lidl supermarket and the man was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 38-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a sexual assault on a woman and an assault on a man in Nicolson Street, Edinburgh at 11.15pm on Sunday, 10 August, 2025.
“He was also charged in connection with resisting arrest and an assault on two police officers. He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 12 August, 2025 in connection.”
