Everton managed to put another point on the board with their draw against Arsenal on Saturday.

It is another point closer to Premier League safety for David Moyes and his side following their Merseyside Derby loss during the week.

Moyes delivered Everton a big half-time pep talk after what was a dismal opening half from the Toffees.

Everton fans will consider themselves all but safe from the drop with just eight games remaining in the 2024/25 campaign.

This is something which Moyes has been keen to avoid commenting on until it is mathematically confirmed.

But the 61-year-old clearly was in a relaxed mood after the game on Saturday as he discussed his plans for the coming days.

Everton are hoping for big revenue boosts from their new stadium with the move set to take place over the summer.

However, this has all been based off the Toffees maintaining their Premier League status for the 2025/26 campaign.

Speaking after the match on Saturday, Moyes admitted he is finally going to visit Bramley-Moore Dock, having claimed he’d avoid until Everton were mathematically safe.

“We’ve done a pretty good job. We are just about there, not mathematically, but just about clear of being a Premier League team,” he said to TNT Sports.

“I will probably visit the stadium this week now that I am feeling that way.”

Tim Howard was wowed by Bramley-Moore Dock when he recently visited the stadium following the second test event to be held.

Everton fans will be hoping for a similar reaction to come from Moyes who is clearly considering his side safe.

Everton are almost mathematically safe

With just eight games to go, Everton are ending Saturday sitting 15 points clear of Ipswich Town who occupy the final relegation spot.

On the unlikely basis Ipswich were to win all of their final eight games, Everton would require another nine points to secure mathematical safety.

However, the Tractor Boys have won just four games all season, so it is extremely unlikely Everton will need anything close to nine points.

Moyes was not happy after Everton’s Merseyside Derby loss during the week, but the Everton boss ended Saturday in a much better mood.
