It said the crews are working “incredibly hard” and thanked residents for their “patience and understanding”.
“We’re currently experiencing a shortage of drivers, which means some recycling and garden waste collections may be delayed,” a spokesperson for North Somerset Council said.
“Our crews are working incredibly hard under challenging circumstances, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding.
“Please continue to be kind to them. More updates will follow soon. Thank you for bearing with us.”
On Tuesday, August 12, North Somerset Council estimated that two out of seven garden waste rounds were missed, and four out of 28 recycling rounds.
For Wednesday, August 13, the council similarly estimated two out of seven garden waste rounds would be missed – the majority in Nailsea – and four out of 28 recycling rounds would be missed – most in Clevedon.
