Finding a relaxing pub that also entertains the children can be a daunting task but there are plenty dotted around the region. With the warm weather still in full swing, there’s no time like the present to head out and enjoy some food and drinks with the whole family.

Plenty of pubs have great food and drink menus, with a few also catering to the taste of little ones. As well as pubs with impressive indoor play areas, there are also plenty with outdoor play structures and dining areas, ideal for making the most of the sunshine.

We’ve gathered pubs around Merseyside that are great for adults and children alike thanks to on-site play areas. We’ve no doubt been unable to list every venue so let us know your favourite in the comment section.

The Running Horse

While adults lap up the cosy and traditional atmosphere with a cold drink, kids can run wild on the garden’s play set which includes slides, climbing frames and swings.

The transformation includes a woodland-themed area where kids can let their “imaginations run wild” with games, craft activities, and special events such as discos, karaoke, and quizzes.

When the sun is shining, children can explore the garden and let loose in the outdoor play area. Thankfully, the Bootle Arms has retained its traditional feel for long-time patrons to enjoy.
