The GP practice, which looks after 5,900 patients, was assessed across five key areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-led.
The CQC’s ‘Good’ rating reflects improvements made since Blossom Health took over the former Bury Road Surgery in July 2023.
Before this, the practice had been rated as inadequate.
The inspection report praised the practice’s commitment to person-centred care.
Inspectors found that patients are involved in their own assessments and decisions, and that staff consider each patient’s communication, personal and health needs.
The report also noted that staff treat patients with dignity and as individuals.
Blossom Health Gosport serves a population with a higher-than-average number of patients aged over 60.
The CQC found that the practice understands the needs of its local population and delivers care accordingly.
The report also highlighted that the practice is accessible, inclusive, and focused on delivering fair and equal treatment for all.
Feedback from patients is encouraged and acted upon.
The CQC found that the practice has strong systems in place to support both patient care and staff wellbeing.
Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage welcomed the news.
Ms Dinenage said: “It’s incredibly important to me that everyone in Gosport has access to safe, high-quality healthcare, so I’m really pleased to see Blossom Health GP surgery awarded a ‘Good’ rating by the CQC.
“I’d like to commend the entire team at Blossom Health for their hard work and commitment in turning the service around since taking it over.
“This is a positive step forward for local patients and the wider community.”
Practice Manager Sally Conway also commented on the result.
Sally said: “I am delighted with the outcome of our latest inspection and proud of the recognition received from the CQC.
“This reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team, who strive every day to provide compassionate, responsive care to our patients.
“As a team we remain committed to continuous improvement and serving the Gosport community to the highest standard.”
