Hollywood superstar Will Ferrell surprised staff at a popular Scots tourist attraction today with the icon branded the “nicest man” by stunned workers.

The Anchorman and Elf legend had been on a tour of Braemar Castle with family and friends. The 58-year-old kindly posed for pictures with starstruck staff during his visit.

Ferrell, whose hit films include Blades of Glory and Step Brothers, was all smiles while posing with staff, who labelled him a “true gentleman”, Aberdeen Live reports.

The Castle’s official Facebook page posted images of the snaps, adding: “Can we just get a little bit excited. The fabulous Will Ferrell paid us a visit this morning and we may have got a little bit fan girly around him.

“They say to never meet your idols, but this man was a true gentleman and so interested in our work at Braemar Castle.”

Ferrell’s visit to the north-east comes just days after he was spotted in Glasgow in the city’s Miller Street.

Speculation mounted that the A-Lister was in town for the new Spiderman movie which is currently being filmed in the city centre.

But Ferrell poured cold water on those rumours as he reportedly told fans he was just visiting the city.

The huge Marvel production for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is continuing until August 26, with eager fans lining the streets hoping to catch a glimpse of the action as it unfolds.
