Glasgow Airport said the issue resulted in queues at security.

(Image: Image: Newsquest) It comes after we previously reported that the X-ray machines at the airport had broken on Friday, August 8, which also sparked queues.

Images from inside the airport showed people queuing in long lines at around 5.30am.

A person travelling from the city to Belfast in Northern Ireland told the Glasgow Times they had to wait in the queues.

They said: “It was awful. People were queued right around past the elevator.”

It is unclear how long the issue lasted for today, however, Glasgow Airport did confirm that the situation has now been rectified. 

A spokesperson for Glasgow Airport said: “An earlier IT issue had resulted in some queues at security.

“The issue has now been rectified and we thank passengers for their patience.”
