Leeds United being a Premier League club once again means a shift from their Championship style, but survival for Daniel Farke won’t be easy.

It’s clear how difficult the size of the task is for Leeds United to overcome. That’s because there’s a pattern emerging in the Premier League over the last few years.

There are Premier League blueprints Leeds can emulate but Adam Underwood, Robbie Evans, and the 49ers appear to have done their Premier League research on what it takes to survive.

It explains why their squad has been improved via players 5’11” and above, with the majority comfortably 6’1″+ as well. However, whether Farke has the tactical flexibility in the Premier League remains to be seen.

While Ben Foster expects relegation for Leeds, others like Jamie Carragher have been bold about Leeds’ survival chances. However, taking fewer than that almost always guarantees an immediate demotion back down to the Championship.

Simon Jordan is also backing Leeds to do well, even if other supercomputer models are down on Leeds’ survival chances. That’s despite the fact the points needed for Leeds to survive Premier League football dropping via the latest research.

It’s clear that Leeds have far more Premier League appearances in their squad compared with their promoted peers, but the approach to recruitment does not guarantee success or survival.

A panel of Premier League experts and pundits have been providing their verdict on a number of topics for the official Premier League website, including who will win Manager of the Season.

Alan Shearer, Michael Owen, Tim Sherwood, Shay Given, Don Hutchison, Matt Holland, Leon Osman, and Glen Murray all collectively agreed on Liverpool boss Arne Slot.

However, one outlier was present. That’s because ex-Leeds goalkeeper Rob Green has picked out Farke to steady the ship and take Leeds to safety.

His reasoning was explained: “I think he will win it for bucking the trend of all three promoted sides getting relegated.”

It’s a bold, if not shocking, call from Leeds’ former player, who also has an affinity with Farke’s former club Norwich City.

There are still deals to be finalised and plenty of work remains to be done for Leeds to feel totally ready for Premier League football, albeit the opening games won’t be the finalised squad.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and James Justin are next up for Leeds. However, exits also have to be on the agenda for what is a very bloated squad.

The likes of Isaac Schmidt and Patrick Bamford are among the seven players who could yet leave Leeds before the deadline, as they look to cut their cloth accordingly.
