Glasgow’s annual cocktail celebration is set to double in length this year, with organisers confirming the event will run for 14 days under a new name – Glasgow Cocktail Fortnight.

Taking place from Thursday 25 September to Wednesday 8 October, the extended format brings two weeks of events, exclusive menus and discounted cocktails to bars across the city.

The name change follows consistent growth since the festival launched in 2018. The move, say organisers, better reflects the scale and scope of the programme while continuing to spotlight Glasgow’s bar talent and hospitality venues.

More than 55 bars are taking part, including Kelvingrove Café, Absent Ear, House of Gods, The Gate, Locale, Champagne Central, Sebb’s and newcomer Si! Si! at Social Hub. Wristband holders will have access to three exclusive serves per venue, plus £2 off each drink on the festival menu.

This year’s programme includes two Saturdays of ticketed masterclasses at VEGA’s new horseshoe bar, with sessions covering Champagne PIAFF, St-Germain spritzes, rum, whisky, tequila and Ben Lomond Gin. An additional beauty and botanicals experience hosted by Saints of Ingram on Sunday 5 October includes demos from MAC Pro artists, a bespoke Ben Lomond serve, Champagne PIAFF mini bottle and canapés.

Also new this year is a Drag Cocktail Masterclass, held at Corset Club on Friday 27 September. The session will be led by queens Shego Sinner and Latex, combining cocktail-making with a live show and food.

Glasgow Cocktail Week/Fortnight organiser, Nicola Gemmell-Moir, said:, “This festival was created with love for the city and its bars, and we’re proud to have grown it into one of Glasgow’s most exciting events. Glasgow Cocktail Fortnight is focused on delivering our biggest programme yet. We’ve always been about collaboration, community, and showcasing the amazing drinks scene here, and this year’s festival will be a true celebration of that.”

“We’d like to thanks all our supporters – LVMH, William Grants, Bacardi, Loch Lomond Group and Edrington, the public and the city’s best bars for their continued support and we can’t wait to roll out Glasgow Cocktail Fortnight with over 55 venues this year, including Kelvingrove Café, Absent Ear, The Gate, Sebb’s, Locale, Devil of Brooklyn, Champagne Central and many more.”

Festival wristbands will also unlock hotel discounts, with Address Glasgow among participating partners.
