“Undeniably and immensely vivacious, Rachael had a golden heart and lived by the mantra ‘children first’, placing the happiness and well-being of her children at the centre of all she did.

“Rachael was – and always will be – deeply loved and cherished by all her family and friends.

“We are utterly bereft and heartbroken.

“The family kindly requests privacy as we begin the unimaginable journey of moving forward without the vibrant light that was our beautiful Rachael.”

A post-mortem has been carried out to determine how Rachael died.

A Justgiving page has been organised by Rachael’s sister-in-law, who is also called Rachael Kershaw.

A message on the page read: “On Monday, August 11, we were devastated by the sudden loss of my sister-in-law, Rachael, with her two youngest children by her side.

“This heart-breaking news has left us all in shock, and will have a lasting impact on Jack, 17, Bobby, nine and Bessie, seven.

“We have been deeply touched by the kindness, love, and support so many of you have already shown, whether through words, memories of Rachael, or offers to help in any way you can.

“The family is managing, and are not in need of financial support, but we know that some of you have expressed a wish to contribute something as a way of your support and love.

“With that in mind, we have created this page simply as an optional way for those who wish to do so to make a difference.

“Any contributions will go directly and equally to the children, to be used in ways that bring them comfort, joy, or opportunities for the future; whether that’s something to look forward to now or something meaningful to them later on.”
