A captivating new portrait of Princess Anne has been unveiled in honour of her 75th birthday today, Friday, August 15.
The Princess Royal is seen in a Royal blue dress with striking white accents and sapphire earrings, offering a playful smile to the camera whilst standing against an exterior wall of her Gatcombe Park residence, in Gloucestershire.
She appears at ease as she gently rests one hand on a windowsill in the fresh image, captured by renowned photographer John Swannell last month. Her hair is styled in her characteristic bouffant, and she sports a dash of colour on her lips.
Princess Anne plans to celebrate her significant birthday privately, and is believed to be planning a sailing trip around the Western Isles of Scotland with her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence. As a result, the couple will not be present at any events commemorating the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, which also falls today (Friday).
Anne, who is praised as the most industrious Royal due to the remarkable number of engagements she undertakes each year, requested that her birthday focus on her charities rather than herself. Consequently, in June, she hosted a special forum for them at Buckingham Palace.

John Swannell has been a trusted Royal photographer for over 25 years, having been commissioned to capture images of Princess Diana with Prince William and Prince Harry, milestone portraits of Queen Elizabeth for her Gold and Diamond Jubilees, and also the official photograph for Anne’s 70th birthday, reports the Express.
He photographed Anne at Gatcombe, her Gloucestershire estate, where just over a year ago she was reportedly struck by a horse.
The Princess Royal was admitted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol’s intensive care unit, where she was treated for a concussion and minor head injuries.
Returning to her Royal duties less than three weeks later, Anne has confessed that she has no recollection of the incident but now considers each day as a “bonus”.
A recent photograph by Chris Jackson, released last week, depicted the princess adorned in a tiara and gown alongside Sir Tim at the Windsor Castle state banquet held in honour of French President Emmanuel Macron.
In recognition of her birthday and lifetime of service, the Royal Mint unveiled the first official UK coin dedicated to Princess Anne last month.
