Despite the lack of service for Swans fans from the club regards tickets, general contact, be that by way of email or telephone the first big home game of the season is nearly upon us. Plus we have some more news on the striker hunt and Marco Stamenic.

First off this game remains a mystery as to why it hasn’t sold out. Yes, there are summer holidays to consider, and the family stand has never been a favourite but there’s still a whole load of tickets available. We covered this yesterday below.

⚽️ Ticket and service fiasco

On the game itself we are aware that Malick Yalcouyé’ will feature in the Swans squad, plus with detail as we write it could be too late for Marco Stamenic he was still to complete matters. The Swans have put in a lot of hard work into this player, and the details around him are scarce. On Malick, Head Coach, Alan Sheehan states, “He has played for Brighton in pre-season. He had a really successful period out on loan at Sturm Graz, and I’d been aware of him since he was at Göteborg” Sheehan has been a fan of the former Scandinavian player for a good length of time, the recruitment team as ever finding some real gems. “We want to evolve him and improve him and integrate him into our surroundings and our culture so he can be an asset for us.”

We were aware of a signing that was coming in, a midfield player but possibly it has been a day too soon ? Who can say ? What an absolute mad summer transfer window this has been. Players in then out in half an hour, and in Marco’s case he seemed off the cards six weeks ago as the Swans pursued Lewis O’Brien. However, the Swans have reached a financial package this week with Nottingham Forest to get him in. We believe there will one player out at least, and the information is pointing to Oli Cooper as a possible transfer out.

Let’s not forget Jacob Wright the Man City player who was in Fairwood ready to sign but never took his coat off and loitered by the entrance doors on his phone then scooted off without warning to Norwich City. That was right at the end of the last window. But then things have changed dramatically behind the scenes as we know.

Swansea City are still in the mix for a centre forward but current talks regards a specific player signing are drawn out. The reason being how popular he is with other clubs, but the Swans fought off other clubs across Europe for Malick, so we keep our fingers crossed. This signing if it comes off will be something special for the Swans. They do like other linked players, Yousef Erabi and Moussa Sylla, but that’s where it ends. Whilst talks continue, until it’s either red or green one man is the target. Don’t swallow the bid of 750k for Erabi its total fiction. Bar the Minnesota player, Tani Oluwasei, the Swans do like other players mentioned. This targeted player is in mainland Europe and we can exclude Germany.

A Scottish youngster is also being reviewed, the recruitment department link being obvious.

On the game itself Ben Cabango has been receiving treatment on his original injury this week but Alan Sheehan seems confident on his inclusion tomorrow. There seems little to be concerned about overall, so the Swans are ready and fit to do battle.

⚽️ Sheffield United haven’t had the best of starts to the season, and now it seems, Jefferson Cáceres has left the club. Losing 1-4 at home to Bristol City on the opening day and then being knocked out of the League Cup in midweek by Birmingham City. Things are tough. New boss, Ruben Selles has had to start his excuses early, “The principles and values you have is one thing and that shouldn’t change, because I am here for a reason in what I have done in the past. But you need to adjust when the situation is not ideal in terms of what we are living right now. We need to be even more brilliant to give my players even clearer situations for them to perform, rather than overcomplicating things.”

Gustavo Hamer is a real danger man who scored an absolute stunner in the defeat to Birmingham City. He will start and there’s expectation that Soumare, on loan from Braga could also be involved. We of course will bring you our match day morning tomorrow as we build up to the opening game of the season at the Swansea.com. (3pm)
