Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has been warned after making demands to the 49ers.

Farke’s side won the Championship title on the final day, separating them from Burnley and Sunderland.

However, Burnley and Sunderland have spent more than the Pecocks heading into the Premier League season.

The Whites’ boss made his feelings clear to the 49ers in a public statement in pre-season, but will they grant him his wish?

Farke makes Leeds United transfer demands

Farke fired a stark transfer warning after Leeds’ draw with AC Milan, demanding more signings in Yorkshire.

Now, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the latest Elland Road addition, meaning the hierarchy have been listening to Farke.

Football finance expert Dan Plumley has weighed in on the Peacocks’ spending and what the German said.

“Yes, it is, and I guess you’ve got to be careful with that,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News when asked if Farke is putting pressure on the 49ers to meet his demands.

“We’ve seen it backfire, and it’s obviously aggressive tactics, and I understand that Leeds have spent money, they haven’t spent as much as the other two promoted clubs on a pound-for-pound basis, but they’ve got a far better squad cost-wise, and being in the Premier League recently than Sunderland have.

“Burnley are in a similar boat, so if you’re looking at him against the two other clubs that have come up, it might be there that you feel like you’ve got to put that little bit of pressure on, but you have got to be careful as well within that as a manager because you’ve got to play that political game with it as well.

“And, I’m sure every manager would want more signings, but it doesn’t always play out that way, so it seems he’s trying to put the pressure on a little bit, but you have got to manage that, and expectations within the club as well linked to the owners and ultimately what they want to do.”

It is easy to forget that the Whites were the best team in the Championship after the spending by Sunderland and Burnley.

However, there is an argument that they do not need to challenge their rivals in the market, given the strong squad they possess.

Of course, losing Junior Firpo and Manor Solomon is a blow, but the Elland Road club have made some solid additions.

However, Farke was right that Leeds needed more attackers, and now he has Calvert-Lewin in his ranks.

The former Everton man is a risky signing, given his decline in the North West, but he will want to prove the doubters wrong.

If Leeds struggle at the start of the season, then the 49ers may have to succumb to Farke’s demands.
