Top Performers
Slovenia cemented a hard-fought 60-55 win over Great Britain and it was Veronika Ferjancic who was the difference-maker. She shot a perfect 7 of 7 from the floor en-route to 16 points and made it a double-double with 14 boards. Handing out 4 assists and blocking 3 shots, she harvested a monster efficiency rating of 37.
Great Britain showed resilience as they looked to bounce back from a first day loss, but they just fell short despite a big show from Isey Guttormsdottir-Frost. She scored 25 points, which was almost half her team’s final points tally and had 7 rebounds in an exceptional showing.
Croatia secured a first win by outlasting Israel 85-62 and that was largely due to a huge 19 offensive boards. It was Ivona Pilic who stood out with a stellar all-action effort of 24 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks.
Meanwhile her teammate Klara Bilusic also excelled and she accumulated a double-double too after putting up 20 points and 12 boards – as well as dishing out 3 dimes.
Mila Avramovic was Serbia’s star as they claimed the prize scalp of France in a 78-64 success. She scored 9 points and her biggest impact came on the glass as she pulled down a monstrous 15 rebounds.
